Interview with Head Coach Mike Evans   Q: Academically, where do you see Bellevue University and the baseball program? Evans: We care about our student-athletes as a whole. It’s just not about having them here to play ball and send them off when their eligibility is up. One thing we try to do here is if the guys want help then we’ll help them in their job search. People know that when they are looking to employ a former player of ours that they are going to be a hard work and be dedicated. We don’t always have the best students here when they arrive on campus, but we try to help them realize that they are getting an education through their athletic talents, and by the time they leave they are much more mature and have turned around their academics and are good students. 	2009 Season Preview

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced its 2009 Baseball Preseason Top 25 Poll. Your Bellevue University Bruins Baseball Team was ranked #6, respectively behind defending National Champion Lewis-Clark State (ID) at #1, Lee University (TN) at #2, Embry-Riddle University (FL) at #3, Biola University (CA) at #4, and Spring Arbor (MI) at #5. The #6 ranking was in part due to last year’s 2008 Avista World Series appearance and continued respect for our program. The Bruins return six players to the 2008-09 team that will mark the 21st year under the guidance of Head Coach Mike Evans.
